Engine Speed Sensor Signal Lost
The ECM is not receiving a valid signal from the engine speed/position sensor. Without this signal, fuel injection timing cannot be calculated and the engine will not start or will stall. This is a critical fault requiring immediate attention.

Use a feeler gauge to measure the gap between sensor tip and flywheel teeth. Specification is typically 0.5-1.5mm. Too large a gap causes weak signal; too small risks sensor damage.
Perkins uses a magnetic pickup sensor (Variable Reluctance) on most engines. Some newer models use Hall Effect sensors. Check your engine manual for specifications.
