Low Fuel Pressure
Fuel supply pressure to the injection system is below required specification. Low fuel pressure causes hard starting, power loss, rough running, and can lead to injector damage from inadequate lubrication.

Perkins recommends fuel filter replacement every 250-500 hours or annually, whichever comes first. In areas with poor fuel quality, more frequent changes may be needed.
Open the bleed screw on the fuel filter housing, operate the manual lift pump or electric pump until bubble-free fuel flows, then close the bleed screw. Crank engine and repeat if needed.
