Generator Over Voltage
The generator output voltage has exceeded the maximum safe limit. Over voltage can damage connected equipment and indicates a problem with the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR), generator excitation, or voltage sensing circuits.

Over voltage is usually caused by AVR malfunction, incorrect AVR adjustment, or sudden load rejection. The AVR should regulate output to 220V/380V +/-5%.
A standard 3-phase generator should produce 380V line-to-line (220V line-to-neutral) at 50Hz. Acceptable tolerance is typically +/-5% (361V to 399V).
